Embody the attributes presented in this biography: Samuel Giglio IV (Feb 11, 1985 – April 7, 2020) was a chemistry major who received his B.S. degree in chemistry posthumously in May 2020 having passed away five weeks before graduating. Sam had already earned minors in Mathematics and Computer Science. Sam valued the pursuit and struggle of learning more than the result of the grade; an attitude that led to excellent grades. His interests and passion for learning were authentically interdisciplinary; a curiosity that transcended just chemistry, as is evident by his two minors in addition to his major degree in chemistry. Sam is remembered most fondly as someone who cared profoundly for the success and well-being of others. The manner in which he impacted and invested in others influenced the culture of the Department of Chemistry and Physics. This scholarship is intended for the chemistry or physics major who most genuinely honors and embodies these attributes. Preference is for a student active in chemistry and physics undergraduate student clubs and in the department community in general.
4. Be active in the undergraduate student clubs and the department community in general.
