Larry Hymel Scholarship for Sports Journalism

Selection Criteria:

1. Must be aiding the Southeastern Sports Information (Media Relations) Department with duties including sports writing.
If there is no eligible student supporting the Southeastern Sports Information (Media Relations) Department who meets the preferred requirements,
a sports writer for the Lion’s Roar may receive the scholarship. If there is no Lion’s Roar recipient, the Director of the Southeastern Channel may select a student in sports broadcasting.
2. Must be enrolled full-time as an undergraduate or graduate. (An exception may be made for this criterion for a graduate
student who is in his or her last semester of school prior to graduation and s/he does not require a full course load to graduate that semester.)
3. Must maintain a minimum overall GPA of 2.5.
