Charles Emery Cate First-Generation Endowed Scholarship

Selection Criteria:

1. Must be a Louisiana resident.
2. Must be a first-generation college student (neither parents(s) nor legal guardian(s) have earned a college degree).
3. Must maintain a 2.0 cumulative GPA.
4. Must be admitted to and matriculated in Southeastern Louisiana University for the period(s) during which the scholarship funds are disbursed.
5. It is the request of the benefactor that preference be given to students majoring in the College of Business.

6.) SLU will provide students with campus employment of a least 10 hours per week over and above the scholarship.* Off-campus employment may substitute for campus employment provided the following criteria are met:
- The student works at least 10 hours per week.
- The rate of pay is equal to or greater than pay for an equivalent job on campus.
- The off-campus employment is directly or indirectly relevant to and supportive of the student’s post-degree career plans and/or field of study.
7.) It is the request of the benefactor that preference be given to students majoring in the College of Business.
